This apartment, located in Sha Tin, Hong Kong, was more than 30 years old and in need of a complete transformation. The new owner, a health-conscious sports lover, wanted a space that reflected his lifestyle and provided better functionality.

The apartment is divided into two sections: a public area and a private space. The public area serves as a multi-functional space for greeting friends, a home office, and physical training. The partitions in this area are not just functional but also serve as art installations. The focal point is the three revolving partitions inspired by the rotating wheels of the owner's favorite bicycle. These partitions provide flexibility and add a touch of passion to the space.

The private space, hidden behind a concealed door, offers a retreat for the owner. It features a classic Eames Lounge chair where the owner can relax with a few pages of the latest sports magazine before resting. The bedroom is connected to a semi-open bathroom through a grey-colored glass panel, allowing for a seamless flow of greenery and natural light.

What sets this design apart is the flexibility provided by the sets of partitions. Each move gives the space a different definition, catering to the user's needs. The design team, COMODO, prioritized the functionality and usability of the space, ensuring that it met the family's requirements.

The project took 7 months to complete, and the design was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2015 for its creativity and resourcefulness. This award recognizes designs that incorporate best practices in art, science, design, and technology, contributing to quality of life improvements.

Overall, the design of this apartment showcases the owner's passion for cycling and creates a unique and flexible living space that reflects his lifestyle.
